‘Tis the time of the year again! Ladies! It’s Summer and it’s hot sunny glares are begging us to wear tank tops, sun dresses, cotton tees and voluminous amounts of sunscreen! While we all are looking for comfort and breathable outfits, fashion and trends are not to be missed! (especially for the ladies who stay ahead of the fashion curve!) Since many hit the beach to cool off the heat and bath in the refreshing waters I’ve come up with 4 main ensembles for not only those who want to escape the Summer heat; but also for the holiday goers! Yes…holiday goers: here in Maldives it’s 365 days of Summer and we get to see tourists come and go through out the year. Thus, we have (or atleast myself!) seen enough beachwear to start commenting,criticizing (admiring even) the different looks we see every season. So, whether you are in California, USA or Reethi Rah Island Resort, Maldives these 4Â beach looks have you covered with day and night ensembles! 
Look 1- Yin and Yang. Strong and Soft. A black bikini always make a bold statement and is a real head turner, pair it with gold or colorful accessories. Contrasting the black bikini look is the dainty swimwear. Floral motifs on pastel tones give a feminine feel. Round sunglasses in two shades can be chic and fashionable. If you are going for dark colored swimwear, then pair a multi colored wrap scarf to give a youthful and fresh look. A tote bag is always handy to carry your sunscreen or Vogue magazine. 
Look 2- If you are planning to go out for drinks on a Summer evening then don a pair of monochrome pants with geometric patterns. They give a very contemporary and chic look. Forget the heels and pair black gladiator sandals with gold accents to give a luxurious feel. Balance the gold accents with statement jewelry like a bib necklace or a bangle. A simple blush can make a huge difference. Give a refreshed, sun kissed look with NARS blush. 
Look 3-Would you dare to bare? The midriff has become a must-flaunt this year (even the resort collections for 2014 were all about cut outs and more midriffs!) So if you’ve got the abs-without-the-flabs then it’s your time to shine. This ASOS piece which they originally selected for the section festival looks is very apt for the beach / summer as well! You could wear for a stroll or when lounging around the cocktail bar. Caring for your skin is a must-do in Summer, always go for wide brimmed hats and to avoid dry chapped lips apply a fruit lip scrub. 
Look4- Kimono’s for beach has become a popular trend! Go for geometric or aztec prints. What’s beach without Kaftans?! This piece of clothing has been around for ages and it’s been designed and styled in so many ways today that you have a variety of styles and colors to choose from. Bejewelled sandals are always a glamorous way to finish off your outfit. Always make sure to apply a good sunscreen of SPF 50 or above, indoors and outdoors.
