Have you been ogling at images of 2021s most popular trend : knitwear? Have you been adding them to your cart ? But haven’t purchased them yet because you think that getting a knit outfit seems absolutely irrational since the lowest temps you get in your area are 29 degree Celsius ? Well, you are not alone.
I was going through the same awful circle of pinning inspirations, adding to cart and then procrastinating over them until I found a small, tiny loophole that allows me to reason with a knitwear purchase as a tropical gal. Here are some things that I consider before getting one.
CHOOSING LARGE KNITS
For a breezy feel, large knits are exactly what you should be looking for. As someone who loves modest clothing, I think they give the right amount of peek-a-boo. The large knit look keeps one warm while providing the apt amount of ventilation. I wear these mostly on cloudy / rainy days. They also come handy since I work most of the time indoors with the AC on. And knits are not exclusive to tops only. Crochet knit dresses or pants in funky patterns can serve as the best head-turner.
THIN KNITS ARE MAJOR
Another thing to consider when buying knitwear is to check if they are thin knits. There’s a huge difference when the knit top you want to wear is thinly woven. The chunky woven knits can make you feel extra warm and sometimes cause an itch. Opt for pastel cardigans that can be either layered with a thin tank or just worn as it is.
CHOOSE CROPPED PIECES THAT FOCUS ON BODICE
The best part about 2021 trends is the vest. The knit vests are back with more flare. In bright colors and patterns, knit vests are are ideal for warm temps too. They only warm up the essential areas (at least in my opinion) so wear them alone with your jeans or over a mesh long sleeved top / plain tee.
Knit bikinis are a popular choice among beach-goers as well. They are unconventional and stand out. While they might not always be ideal for going into the water they serve as the perfect, aesthetic Instagram photos.
