Hello everyone! I couldn’t help but post my latest obsession! -A new turquoise stone anklet with bronze bells! I just love the way the bells or gunguru rings when I walk. Love Love Love it! I bought it from a souvenir shop in Male’ city and the turquoise stones remind me of the ocean…sigh.

Munal Shuja or Angel, as she is commonly known is among the few youths in the country who are fully dedicated to the field of fashion. As a fashion designer who runs her own brand, a freelance stylist, illustrator and writer - Angel believes in offering her optimum in knowledge and skills in the field. Prior to becoming VIBE magazine's editor-in-chief, she wrote largely on fashion for the magazine sharing tips on style how-to's, interviewing designers and bringing the latest news on international fashion. Angel's career in fashion started at a young age - her creative instinct was nurtured, growing up in a studio with her father who is an artist. Angel began working as a freelance illustrator and designer whilst she was studying for her A'levels. She completed her fashion studies with an Instituto di Moda Burgo, Italian fashion design Diploma in Chandigarh, India. Her fashion illustrations were much in demand and she freelanced as a fashion illustrator before returning to the Maldives. In the year 2009, Angel started her fashion blog FAMUSHU - becoming the first fashion blog in the country. Documenting her own designs, illustrations, sharing her views on the local and international fashion scene on her blog shaped her first steps to becoming a fashion writer. After contributing fashion articles to local lifestyle and travel magazines; Angel successfully initiated the first fashion column in the Maldives' most widely circulated newspaper Haveeru and continued her tenure as Mihaaru's fashion columnist till 2016.
This Male’ City that you mentioned brings uneasiness, Male’, the island has been in existence for ages and I love it to bits, the law gave Male’ the status as a City, but it NEVER changed the name of the island to Male’ City, do you see people talk about Delhi City?, Washington DC (District of Columbia) City?, Tokyo City?, Beijing City? ofcourse all those are city by status, but their names doesnt have to include the status, for example should Male’ be known as Male’ Capital City? no, it is just Male’, see your ID card.
if places were to change names that way, then places would have name changes like –
1. Villingili Village
2. Villingili Town
3. Villingili City
4. Villingili Capital City
Thats not how it happens, it is just Villingili, the status of the island might change, there are ofcourse places where city has been used, like New York City, the reason why City is added to New York is to differentiate between New York City and New York State.
