Are Skinny Jeans A Classic Now?
On January 2, 2017
The year 2016 is finally over! And boy was it a crazy one! We do not know what is in store for us this year, but after facing the horrors of 2016 it is probably safe to say that 2016 thickened our skin enough to brace whatever comes next. For those who religiously follow fashion though – last year has been a joyous ride. But what is next? Are we ready to let go of the 90’s that have firmly embedded into the fashion scene? Or are we keeping those furry Gucci mules?
The simplest answer ? Wear classics.
They are your loyal wardrobe staples, that help you look always on-point. What the modern woman calls ‘classic’ has evolved over time as well: a white button down shirt, a black dress or a tailored blazer. And the recent addition to the classics family took us by surprise. The skinny jeans – We have always had a love-hate relationship with them. But they always seem to persevere and serves as the perfect piece to complete any outfit. Whilst cropped flare denim jeans or frayed denims will most likely be seen as strong trends this year, the skinny jeans will be a simple piece that can blend with most looks. Try incorporating them with dresses, ankle boots, duster coats or long bomber jackets. Go for simple denim tones with some rips at the knee and roll them up to give a bit of edge to a look. Here, I wore a pair of skinny jeans from ASOS, with a camel colored long coat and black tank. Paired with black suede heels from ASOS and a lovely black handbag from a Thai brand called Embroiderer Bangkok.
